Chapter 2 shifts the perspective to Leon S. Kennedy, who arrives at Rhodes Hill to investigate the outbreak. His sections are more action-oriented and introduce the game’s first major boss fights.

Objectives

  • Clear the cafeteria and kitchen area of infected.
  • Pick up the MSBG 500 shotgun.
  • Defeat the boss Chunk.
  • Meet Grace and Emily at the church.
  • Fight the Blister Borne.
  • Escort the survivors toward the Care Center exit.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Cafeteria and Kitchen

Leon enters through the loading dock. The cafeteria has several standard infected. Use your handgun to clear them, but conserve ammo. Search the kitchen counters for herbs and gunpowder.

2. The MSBG 500 Shotgun

In the kitchen pantry, you’ll find the MSBG 500 shotgun on a shelf. This weapon is essential for the upcoming boss fight. Pick up the nearby shotgun shells and combine any gunpowder you have.

3. Boss: Chunk

Chunk is a bloated, slow-moving mutant eating a corpse in the kitchen. The fight begins when you approach. Keep your distance, circle the tables, and unload shotgun blasts into its head. When it staggers, you can land a melee follow-up if it gets close enough. After it falls, collect the Kitchen Key it drops.

4. Reaching the Church

Use the Kitchen Key to unlock the side door leading to the church courtyard. The path has a few standard infected, but nothing you can’t handle with the shotgun. Ammo crates are placed along the way if you’re running low.

5. Meeting Grace and Emily

At the church you’ll encounter Grace and Emily for the first time. After the cutscene, the group is ambushed by the Blister Borne.

6. Boss: Blister Borne

The Blister Borne is covered in glowing orange cysts. Target these cysts with your shotgun or handgun. Each cyst explosion deals significant damage to the boss. It has three main attacks:

  • Lunge: Dodge sideways.
  • Acid spit: Keep moving and maintain distance.
  • Ground slam: Back away when it rears up.

After the fight, the church exit opens, allowing the group to proceed.

Key Tips

  • Save shotgun ammo for Chunk and the Blister Borne.
  • Search the kitchen thoroughly for healing items and gunpowder.
  • The Blister Borne’s orange cysts are weak points; aim carefully.
  • Don’t get cornered in the church; use the open space to kite.
