Central Hall Quartz Mechanism Solution

The Central Hall Quartz Mechanism combines the three Quartz pieces you’ve collected throughout Chapter 3. It is located in the Central Hall, the large chamber connecting the East and West Wings of the Rhodes Hill Care Center.

This guide covers how to use the mechanism, the correct placement of each Quartz piece, and what it unlocks.

Where to Find the Central Hall Mechanism

The mechanism is on the far wall of the Central Hall, directly across from the main entrance. It is a large stone door with three circular slots marked with the moon, sun, and star symbols. You cannot interact with it until you have all three Quartz pieces.

Required Items

You must have collected all three Quartz pieces from Chapter 3:

• Moon Quartz from the Chairman’s Office
• Sun Quartz from the Lead Researcher’s Office
• Star Quartz from the Security Manager’s Office

How to Solve the Mechanism

1. Return to the Central Hall with all three Quartz pieces.
2. Approach the mechanism on the far wall.
3. Insert each Quartz into its matching slot:
   • Moon Quartz into the moon slot
   • Sun Quartz into the sun slot
   • Star Quartz into the star slot
4. The order does not matter, but each piece must go in the correct slot.
5. Once all three are inserted, the mechanism activates and the door to the Courtyard opens.

Reward

Opening the mechanism unlocks the Courtyard and triggers the transition to Chapter 4: The Courtyard. It also creates a save point, so you cannot return to some Care Center areas after this point.

Common Mistakes

• Trying to insert the Quartz pieces in the wrong order: the order does not matter, but each piece must go in its matching slot.
• Forgetting to bring Emily for the Star Quartz: if you left her behind, backtrack to find her before attempting the mechanism.
• Inserting the final Quartz before collecting all missed items. This is a one-way transition.

Tips

• Backtrack and collect all optional items, files, and charms before inserting the final Quartz.
• Make sure you have a full inventory of healing and ammo before entering Chapter 4.
• The mechanism does not consume the Quartz pieces incorrectly. If you put the wrong piece in a slot, you can remove it and try again.
